MEMBER AGREEMENTS

Before becoming a member of The Clay Lounge you are expected to have completed a one-time Orientation Class at the studio. You can purchase this $25 class on the website. During this time you will learn how to care for our community space, the expectations when using the studio and how to best store your work.

The Clay Lounge is a communal space and equipment is available on a first come first served basis. All members are expected to share space and equipment fairly as well as respectfully work side by side in a communal creative space.

Members have use of the storage racks for work in progress and one plastic bin in the Clay Room. The Clay Lounge will not be held liable for personal property stored at the studio; it is recommended to clearly label all tools and work as members see fit.

Members are required to only use clay purchased from The Clay Lounge.

Members are not permitted to touch, move or handle work that is not their own.

Items over twelve inches in height or needing more than one kiln shelf, will be fired if space is available and only when doing so will not interfere with the flow of other projects needing to be fired. Attempts will be made to fire large items. Additional fees may be assessed and charged in advance on approval of large projects.

Hours of operation are posted and subject to change. Classes are posted ahead of time on the monthly calendar. Members can choose to use the studio during class time at their own discretion.

People who are ready for a studio membership are acknowledging that they are ready to work independently in the space. A knowledgeable staff member will be available for questions regarding the studio, but is not responsible for 1:1 guidance/teaching.

Members are expected to wrap up their work and clean up prior to closing time to respect the time of the studio staff.

Members will share all approved spaces in studio with fellow members as well as class participants.

Members are expected to keep their workspace clean and to use an appropriate amount of space sharing tables as they work.

A membership allows studio usage for the paying member only, unless a guest pass is paid for.

Sanding of projects is not allowed in the studio, unless under water. Please be mindful of those using the patio tables when sanding outside.
Members are required to clean, dry and organize all equipment, tools, and their space after each use. Members will clean the studio wet - no sweeping allowed.

Production potting and building (more than 1.5 cubic foot per firing) is not allowed by members in the studio. Accommodations may be extended to members with additional fees paid if the studio has the capacity to do so at that time.
*All memberships are paid in advance and require auto $195 payment scheduling.
